camo & animated cloth displays

two different concepts of wearable displays (or “performative textiles”) shown at the recent siggraph conference.

kameraflage is a display garment with elements that appear only in digital photographs as a sort of digital camouflage. for instance, students at private schools & employees of chain-stores will be able to express themselves to their camera phone toting peers.

Animated Textiles uses cloth as an animated surface that is receptive & responsive to external stimuli. all electronic components such as LED lights & circuits are fully integrated into the fabric. in the future, both cloth & clothing will be able to display real-time data input from a variety of sources
